My top 3 bags!

With everyone coming towards the end of their school year, university year, summer holiday break and so on, I though it the perfect opportunity to show you my favourite bags!

I’ve chosen 3 bags in total. One for everyday (shopping and day to day life). One for school and work (big enough to carry folders and laptops). The last one is for the evening time (dinners and parties and weddings).

Day:
I got this bag from Dorothy Perkins for £28! It looks fantastic and I love the burnt orange and brown colours with the weaved flap! It looks fantastic and it’s the perfect way to wear a ‘Cambridge Satchel’ style bag with a difference! It comes with a handle and a long strap to wear around your body! PERFECT!

Work/ School:
The last thing you need when you have a tonne of folders to carry, is to have to carry a separate bag for them! This bag from Zara is the perfect combination is aesthetics and practicality because it has it all! It’s big enough to carry a folder and laptop as well as your kitchen sink and the dirty dishes to fill it! It’s a lovely navy blue colour with gold hardware and comes with a long strap too (which I hate on this bag)! Zara do loads of bags like this in many different colours and styles but I love the suede detail on the side of this!

Product Smackdown! Too Faced vs. Lancôme

20130220-160159.jpg

I have been looking for a palette I can travel with, for quite some time now! After going to Spain for a day and only carrying hand luggage, I realised that I didn’t have any palettes or sets which had everything I needed for an overnight stay!

20130220-160216.jpg

When I went to the airport (Heathrow and Madrid), I saw a palette by Lancôme which looked fabulous!! However, they had a model of this palette on the display and I was so disappointed because it was tiny!! And was over £50! When I came home, I went straight onto eBay and found it for less than half the price from a UK seller and behold it arrived the very next day.. EXCITED!! The palette is called ‘Absolut Voyage’ and is only available from Airports or online I’ve noticed.

A short time after, I realised I had never purchased anything from BeautyBay.com before, despite being CRAZY about make up so after visiting it, I saw this fantastic ‘Little black book of beauty’ from Too Faced. Having tried a lovely palette from Too Faced recently, I knew this one would be FAB! And also, it was on sale for £27! BeautyBay deliver free worldwide.. BONUS!! The palette looked full of all sorts of goodies which would be perfect for travelling!

After receiving the Lancôme palette, the first thing I noticed was the brilliant size and quality of the packaging! It is full of brushes, make up, pencils, a massive mirror and a sleeve to protect it! It contains:
• 6 eye shadows
• 1 blush
• 1 translucent powder
• 1 concealer
• 1 mascara
• 3 lip colours
• 3 brushes
• 1 eye pencil
• 1 lip pencil
• 1 small powder puff
• 1 built in mirror

You can imagine, the quality of the products are amazing and each eye shadow and everything else is so well pigmented!! I was so pleased with all of the colours included as I would wear them all and it’s versatile for any skin bar, the concealer however, even this could be worn as a highlight for a darker skin tone!

The Two Faced palette arrived in the post and it was a very small packaging as I didn’t realise how small it would be! I love Too Faced packaging because its such a sturdy packaging with beautiful artwork on it! The mascara was loose however, and I was expecting it to be included within the ‘book’. When I opened the palette it contained:
• 1 highlighter
• 1 bronzer
• 2 blushes
• 1 lipgloss
• 12 eye shadows
• 1 mascara

Some of the matte eye shadows were almost transparent and had no pigmentation to them at all however, the rest were fantastic quality! I love the fact that the face products and lip gloss they give is so big and the packaging is tiny, so very easy to carry!

All in all.. I think the Lancôme palette is the one for me! It has everything you need and the size of the palette is the best. The pigmentation of all of the products is lovely and the colours are versatile. The Too Faced palette is lovely to look and the cheek products are a fantastic size! The mirror of the Lancôme palette is far greater and although I love the fact that under theToo Faced palettes’ mirror, the lip gloss is protected, I would rather that the cheek products are covered because they go directly onto skin! For the amount of money you pay.. LANCÔME WINS!! Too Faced KO!

An everyday eye look!

Ok so today, I was getting ready and had a really nice smokey eye on! A lot of people complimented me on it and I thought I’d recreate it :)

Start off with cleaning your eye kids with a cleanser, bioderma or even a wet wipe! Believe me.. This will help your eye shadow blend and last much longer!

20121230-201036.jpg

Apply your eye shadow primer. I use a dab of Too Faced Shadow Insurance which I squish between my fingers and apply on each eyelid.

I’m then going to use a blusher.. On my eyes! Nars Orgasm is a great colour for winter on the eyes! Its a pink with a gold shimmer.. rose gold! You can use your finger to blend it or even a flat and stiff brush!

20121230-201126.jpg

Dupe: Sleek Oh So Special palette has a lovely dupe!

20121230-201121.jpg

20121230-201103.jpg

I then clean off the same brush a bit with a wet wipe and dab the brush on the back of my hand to remove excess fluid. I then dip the brush into a medium- dark brown like the one in the same Sleek palette. Most of the sleek palettes have the same colour in them.

20121230-202002.jpg

I apply this on the outer corner of my eye. I build it up slowly to get my chosen amount of shade. Tip** only follow your eye lid shape/ space. Creating a new crease, over reaching, FAKING will not look very nice and it will be obvious it’s not Yo lid Yo!

20121230-201138.jpg

20121230-201142.jpg

Blend each time you add a new layer as it makes it easier to see whether you’ve applied enough. I applied about 3 layers to get this shade..

20121230-201146.jpg

Whatever product is left on the brush, smudge under your eye.

I like to end by using the same blending brush to apply a little more of the rose gold colour to my lid as it adds a more intense colour and blends nicely.

20121230-201209.jpg

Mascara those lids up!

20121230-201221.jpg

And you’re done!!!
