Bella Jane Jewellery.. A unique gift

20130823-194550.jpg

When it comes to presents, I love getting them for people! There’s nothing better in the world in my eyes, than getting someone a small token of appreciation! So when it was time to give my cousin a gift, I knew I had my work cut out!

She’s one of those girls who has everything!

And.. What do you get for someone who has everything? More of what they already have!

And for me.. If you’re a woman, you’ll get jewellery!

I discovered Bella Jane jewellery after watching Pixiwoo. They had on, one of Annabel’s rings and I loved it from the get go! I had a look on her website and found the stuff the perfect sort of gift for a girl! It’s funky, unique and handmade!

Here are the items I bought:

July Favourites

20130802-171927.jpg

This month has been amazing in so many ways: Ramadhan, weather and most importantly.. WEATHER! :) I can’t help but say that the heat doesn’t affect me in the slightest! And so when the sunshine comes around, I’m all over it! I’ve found some wonderful products this month.. So without further ado, here are my July Favourites:

20130802-171939.jpg

Moschino Cheap and Chic ‘Hippy Fizz’ perfume- £21.98
I got this perfume this time last year whilst on a shopping trip with my mum! I had been transferred to a new location for work and they had a Beauty Bay there! My mum noticed this perfume because of the name and when she picked it up to smell it we both just stared at it in awe! It’s perfect.. I can’t even describe anything like it before! It’s a fresh, fruity, citrus scent and it smells good on so many skins! It lingers for ages.. I mean: spray it on your coat and smell it for weeks! It’s affordable too so a bonus!

20130802-172349.jpg

Benefit ‘Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer’- £24.50
I heard so many good things about this primer that I had to get it when I saw it! When it comes to base makeup, my skin is useless! I can wipe my face after a few hours of wearing makeup and there’ll be nothing on the wipe! I don’t know whether my skin absorbs it or whether it just doesn’t hold it well! However, this primer is revolutionary for me! I wouldn’t quite say a 15 hour hold for my foundation but it’s a lot more than a few hours! It feels a bit greasy when going on your skin but doesn’t look it at all! And because its a stick, no faffing with brushes and stuff.. Just slide it on and blend in your foundation on top! One downside: it clings to dry spots on the face so if you have patches of dryness, it will cling on to and enhance them!

20130802-172401.jpg

Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ mascara- £7.99
I love me some mascara! My lashes are ok-ish. I have length but no curl and volume so I’m always on the hunt for a good mascara! I’m prone to a few layers of mascara too because I like the clumpy look on myself! When Tanya from Pixi2woo raved about this mascara, I knew I wanted it! I can relate to a lot of the skincare and makeup advice she gives because we have really similar skin types! This mascara really does look like false lashes! It has a bristle hair type brush which I don’t mind at all and the shape and liquid is just perfect to start using straight away (usually I have to wait a few months for my mascara to dry out). I love this.. Miss. A.. This one is coming your way!

20130802-173205.jpg

Benefit ‘Boi-ing’ concealer in shade 3- £17.50
When I got this concealer, it was a bit too dark for me because I had matched myself up for the summer months but now it matches, I’m crazy about it! It has such a great texture and the coverage is excellent. Although it creases on me if I don’t set it, it lasts ages and looks flawless! It’s creamy and is best applied with fingers so again.. No faffing with brushes! For the winter months, I’ll definitely get a lighter shade and use it then too!

20130802-173211.jpg

Premae Harmony Moisturising Creme Balm- £27.50
I received this in a glossy box a few months ago and never tried it until this month! It’s a balm, so you would think it has a heavy texture and creamy finish but you’d be wrong! Although it’s a balm, it’s really lightweight and blends into the skin leaving a seamless finish. It looks great underneath foundation because it makes the skin matte yet still smooth! You only need a tiny bit of it so this will last me ages!

20130802-173757.jpg

Topshop lipstick in ‘Crystal’- £9
I got this lipstick a few months ago and I really wanted to try a Topshop lipstick because everyone raves about them! I have to say.. I can understand why! The texture is really creamy and they’re long lasting. They have a fantastic colour range too but I chose the sheer pink with crazy glitter in it. This is a pH adjusting lipstick so will look different on everyone but I’m so pleased about the way it looks on me! It’s affordable and good quality!

20130802-173825.jpg

20130802-173831.jpg

Soap & Glory Cheekmate- £8
When it comes to the summertime, you just want to throw on a blush and hope it stays cause it’s too hot to look colourless and I’m too lazy to reapply.. That’s where stains come in. I’m a big fan of stains and in summer, I love them even more. This S&G one is a gel like consistency and is uber pigmented! You only need a small dot of this stuff and it does the job. It looks natural and leaves your face looking fresh! You can see in the picture how naturally it blends in.

20130802-174559.jpg

20130802-174604.jpg

Bourjois ‘Delice De Soleil’ bronzer in 14- £8.99
This shade bronzer is for olive tanned skin and I love how they say which bronzer is best for which skin. So this bronzer is mostly matte apart from a few shimmers but I can’t see them when I swatch it. It looks great because its not too orange, red or muddy. It’s just a perfect bronze colour which looks natural and lovely! Smells really good too!

20130802-174832.jpg

20130802-174840.jpg

Makeup Geek eyeshadow/ Z palette
I’ve saved the best until last here. Welcome to my Z palette! This is basically a magnetic palette which you can put pans into. Be that blush, eyeshadow or whatever, if its got a magnet on it, it’ll go in here! Not only do I love the palette, I love these eyeshadows! These are all Make Up Geek eyeshadows which I got a few months ago! I have a tonne more eyeshadows than this but this is a little neutrals palette I organised! I love all of these colours for summer because they look bronze, shimmery and perfect for creating any look! The eyeshadows are pigmented and so soft and creamy! I feel as though they’re better than MAC and they aren’t half as expensive! The colours:
(Left to right going down)
Corrupt (blackest black in the world)
Peaches and Cream
Cocoa Bear (my favourite)
Glamorous
Latte
Creme Brule
Shimma Shimma
Prom Night
Mocha

My top 5 lipsticks to wear with a tan

20130712-233427.jpg

When it comes to lipsticks, I think it’s safe to say that I think I have quite a good collection! But one thing I struggle with is finding a perfect nude when I’m tanned!!

Much like my other pasty friends out there, I fake tan and this year was no exception! I actually fake tanned so much this year, I don’t remember what my real colour is anymore.. Until I look behind my ear.. Which I don’t do often! It’s quite hard to find a nude lipstick which is flattering when you’re tanned, be that fake tanned or sun worshipped.

So here’s a list of my 5 top tan lipsticks!

The first one is a cheap and cheerful nude colour from Rimmel! This shade is called ‘Nude Delight’ and is the perfect peachy nude! It suits almost everyone in my opinion! If you’re uber fair and tanned, it adds a gorgeous hint of peach whilst not disturbing your colouring and if you have a deep tan, because its not bright peach, it doesn’t look like ‘concealer lips’.

** Rimmel Nude Delight £6.29

The next shade is another good ‘un from Rimmel! This time from the Kate Moss for Rimmel line in the shade 03 (it has no name). This nude is a lot more brown toned and so is perfect of you’re going for a heavy makeup look whilst tanned and want to wear a nude colour! If you have darker skin or a deeper tan, this colour will look super without drawing the attention away from your make up.

20130712-233647.jpg
** Rimmel Kate 03 £5.49

This colour is the perfect nude in my opinion and is my current favourite! It looks quite pink in the images (but that’s because my lips had become quite red from removing the lipstick from the previous swatches). This lovely nude colour is a lustre finish from MAC in the shade ‘Shy Girl’. The lustre finish means its not super pigmented but has a nice sheer and glossy finish. It looks lovely because it looks like your natural lip colour and its moisturising too! Btw.. MAC lipstick prices have gone up again!

** MAC Shy Girl (lustre) £15

This next one is for those of you who have darker lips or a darker tan and want to add more colour! Because its pink and has purple undertones, it’ll look great with a tan! This lipstick is from Shu Uemura and is in the shade ‘BG 955’. It’s really pigmented and is very moisturising too! I love this colour and this is the lipstick I go to when I want to add a quick flash of colour!

** Shu Uemura BG955 £19

The next one is my most favourite lipstick of all time! And this is the only lipstick in my life so far that I will probably finish and repurchase! This colour.. It makes me angry how perfect it is because I feel like I’ve wasted my time with all the other lipsticks! Estée Lauder ‘Crystal Baby’ came into my life and made it worth living! Whether you have a tan.. Be that a fair tan or deepest of deep tan, this colour is the perfect glossy pinky, peachy, browny nude! It smells divine and the packaging is lovely too! I can’t say enough good things about this. I promise you that if you get this, you won’t regret this high end purchase!

My top 10 beauty tips

Starting with good skin, you need to use a face mask! If you don’t use an intensive treatment like a mask on your face at least once a week, your skin will look dull and blotchy thus, making your make up look the same!

20130412-120120.jpg

Also, I always exfoliate my skin! Whether its using a facial brush or my face wash (which comes with scrublets), I feel like exfoliating really helps make your skin look new.. Even if you’re not!

20130412-120209.jpg

Curl your lashes before you go to bed (when you have no make up on), before you apply mascara in the morning and after your mascara is 100% dry! It will really help to change the way your lashes grow and they’ll naturally start to curl!

20130412-120409.jpg

Always use nourishing treatment on your hair.. Even if its once a week. Using conditioner or oiling your hair will really help repair it. If you use heat regularly, you’re basically frying your hair.. Just like you would put a plaster on your skin to let it heal, your hair shouldn’t be treated any different!

20130412-120412.jpg

When shaping your eye brows.. Whether you tweeze, wax, thread or shave, fill them in like you do on a daily basis and then remove the hair around that shape. That way, you won’t over-pluck!

20130412-120620.jpg

Keep lip balms around you! In your pocket, handbag, desk, bedroom, downstairs, upstairs and even in your car! You always need lip balm when you don’t have it so buy a few and delegate them everywhere you hang out cause you can never have too over moisturised lips!

20130412-120624.jpg

With summer coming, most people will be wearing sandals a lot! You don’t have to use a tonne of money to buy a foot scrub or pumice stone! Go into your garden or park and find a brick (carefully smash its face in on the hard ground really subtly and casually) and use one of the pieces to scrub off your dead skin. Alternatively find a rough edged stone!

20130412-121002.jpg

Sometimes when I’m having a really bad day, I like to paint my nails only to notice my nails look chipped and horrible! Pushing your cuticals back with a blunt butter knife or the edge of a nail file will help to show a little more nail and makes your nail varnish and nails look so crisp and neat.. Who knew there was so much nail under those claws?

20130412-121008.jpg

This is gross.. But don’t be afraid to pick! That’s right.. I’m talking about spots! Most spots have heads (a gooey puss filled delicious centre) or a small hole in them! Those are the spots you should pick! Leaving them trapped under your skin makes them bigger and often hurt! Gently squeeze them out and then let your skin do the healing!

20130412-121431.jpg

If you want your teeth to be whiter, try to drink your hot drinks with a straw or before you brush your teeth! As soon as any dark liquid comes in contact with your teeth, it stains them which is a huge no- go in my books! Your smile should look bright and clean just like its essence!

20130412-121421.jpg

If you’re beautiful (which I think everyone is in their own individual way), embrace your natural beauty! I love seeing confident women out and about with little or no make up on without a care in the world! It’s empowering and a breath of fresh air!

20130412-121425.jpg

J’adore DIOR!!!

After the blog post I done on the Dior powder and Rose Diamonds I bought, I decided to get one of their lipsticks! After searching through their collection, I found a colour I thought would be perfect for the beautiful Miss. A!

She loves a bit of lippy and when I found this colour, I fell head over heels for it! The lady at the counter said it was quite a universal colour and that it suited most people!

Being a women I should know to never buy a lady lipstick and Miss. A. returned it to me because she said it was the wrong colour for her as she usually likes something more pink!

So I thought I’d keep it and I’m so glad I did!! So without further ado, let me introduce you to the new love in my life (apart from Mr. A)!

20121020-174612.jpg

This Dior Addict lipstick in Wild 646 is perhaps the best colour for everyday use!

It’s a gorgeous nude colour (in between a brown nude and pink nude) which has lovely gold shimmers in it!! I can definitely see it looking good on every woman in the world!

20121020-180128.jpg

The formulation is so creamy and I absolutely love the way the lipstick glides onto the lips! Because it is a nude colour, you can top it up on-the-go and don’t need a mirror to apply it!

20121020-174629.jpg
In some lights the lipstick looks more pink

20121020-174634.jpg
In some lights the lipstick looks brown

The packaging is beautiful in a plastic holographic style design with Dior embossed on the side and the traditional addict handle with CD engraved on the bottom!

20121020-174618.jpg

This is the kind of lip to wear on those days you like the natural look (which I’ve been sporting recently) as well as, when you’ve got a smoky eye and need a nude lip!

It’s expensive at £23.50 but I think for the use you’ll get out of it and for the sheer joy of pulling out a Dior lipstick and applying whilst waiting for the train, it’s AMAZING! Try picking it up from a duty free to save some money on it though!

THE BEST LIPSTICK IN THE WORLD!!!

A new product that I’ve been LOVING recently is this lipstick from Barry M! Now if you live outside of the UK, you may find this a little hard to come across but it’s AMAZING! I’ve found some fantastic dupes listed below!

20120908-200110.jpg

The genius of it? IT’S GREEN! Or is it? This lipstick actually changes colour depending on the pH balance of your lips and turns a pink colour when applied! It’s magic! This one will turn heads when you pull a GREEN lipstick out your bag!

20120908-200150.jpg

I’ve been wearing this non-stop recently and it’s a completely new to me but as my mum pointed out, this stuff has been around for YEARS! In fact, she remembers purchasing this over 20 years ago before I was born! It was quite the thing during the 80s/ 90s and apparently you could get this for the dollar store!

20120908-200354.jpg

This particular one is by Barry M and is in the TMLP which cleverly stands for.. Turn My Lips Pink! Clever ehy? I like the small and simple packaging too! Perfect to put in your bag!

20120908-200133.jpg

The best thing about the Barry M one is that it’s so cheap! It costs £4.49 from Boots or Superdrug! I think the colour would look GREAT on anyone!

20120908-201044.jpg20120908-201049.jpg

You could wear this colour no matter what your skin tone and it is quite moisturising too! And because it adjusts to your own pH balance, it will suit you!

Here’s a dupe by Fran Wilson which is raved about a lot!
