Add a splash of colour to your face!

My newest love is definitely coloured eyeliner! I always feel overdone when I wear winged liner and now it’s summer, I don’t want it running down my face! I recently done a post on a KIKO haul (a brand based in Milan available at White City Westfield, London)! I tried their eyeliner and I was blown away by how good they were! I love adding the liner on my bottom lash line very lightly and using it to add a splash of colour!

The eyeliners last so long and they are so vivid! They have shimmer in them apart from a few colours which have a more satin finish! I’ve calculated quite a few colours now and I love how long they last and how they add a pop of colour with little effort!

** I used about 3 coats of the liner to create these colours

To top it off, the applicator is a felt tip shape thus making application so much easier! You can create the finest of points and the thickest!

To top the whole experience off, these are so cheap coming in at £3.90 each (less than most drug store eyeliners) and there are 14 colours available!!

You can purchase the eyeliners here!

No make up make up!

20121025-191442.jpg

I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the ‘no make up make up’ look at the moment! Usually I’m the kind of person who feels bare without any eyeliner or highlighter on my face!

It takes so confidence to go kind of bare faced when you’re used to caking your face with so many products, your makeup drawer looks like a Sephora loot! But I think I’ve cracked it with a very simple formula!

Step A: Good cleanse + hydrating moisturiser = perfect skin – foundation

I pride myself on maintaining my skin an it’s the one thing I never go without doing! Ensuring you take your make up off beautifully before bed and then washing/ exfoliating/ cleansing your face and then applying a hydrating moisturiser, will make your skin shine without the need for moisturiser!

Step B: Concealer + Blending = natural beauty

Everyone has those imperfections which they can’t bare being seen with! For me it’s my dark circles which wearing glasses and contacts have given to me over time! Get yourself a nice creamy concealer and blend as flawlessly as you can to create skin that looks naturally clean! **Avoid putting concealer on scabs and dry patches because it looks blotchy! Try moisturising those areas to help them heal faster, instead :)

Step C: mascara + pencil liner / bright shadow = awake eyes

Your eyes should do the talking in the no make up equation, the reason being that there is no bright lip, or contoured cheek coming up. By using a lengthening and volumizing mascara which will feminise your face. Using a highlighter in your inner corners will make your eyes seem brighter and more awake and by using a pencil liner to rim the waterline, it will add a little drama to your eyes to make your eye colour stand out more. ** Instead of using a black liner, use a brown or soft colour instead as it won’t seem as harsh. Tight line the the top lash line too to make your lashes seem fuller.

Step D: Cream blush + lip liner = a completed gorgeous look!

Cream blusher will look more natural than a bright pint powder blush just because it blends better and looks like skin. It also adds a nice dewy finish to the skin thus, beautifying your flawless face more! Add a simple nude lip liner around your lips to define them an fill in with your lip balm to add a touch of shine and moisture!

In summary:

Good cleanse + hydrating moisturiser = perfect skin – foundation

Concealer + Blending = natural beauty

Mascara + pencil liner / bright shadow = awake eyes

Cream blush + lip liner = a completed gorgeous look!

You guys may have noticed from my manicure tutorial that I like nail art! Something I love more than that is designing my nails after! At the moment, I’m loving soft colours and I’m into Aztec print so anything which has sharp bold lines is a YES!

20120906-221330.jpg

Here’s some nail designs that I love doing!

20120906-221245.jpg

If you’re not too good at doing the hand you write with, do that one first! That way you won’t struggle with doing the opposite hand with wet nails! It’s much easier! Alternatively.. Do it really messy and get your mum to clear it with a cue tip..

20120906-221338.jpg

I’ve used y mum to show you guys that age is but a number and nail art designs are there for anyone who wants to try them! Don’t be afraid to express yourself through your nails! But always look after your hands if you’re not keen on a bald design!

20120906-221321.jpg

Thanks for helping me mum!

20120906-221305.jpg

I used a nail art pen for the French tip on the red tip however, prefer using eye liner! I just find eye liner so much more easier to use! It’s handy and available anywhere an I think most people have liquid eye liner anyway! Just remember to use a base coat when using eye liner otherwise it washes away!

20120906-221954.jpg

The trick to applying perfect nail polish is use as less strokes as possible! Load up your brush evenly and one stride in the middle with two on either side following, follow up with a second coat to even out the nail colour.

False nails are an option too! I recently tried ImPress nails and I was.. Impressed ;) The only thing is that they feel strange and they didn’t last me a week! They taught me though that I use y nails for a lot of things, hence why my nails are tittle and break easily.

20120906-221431.jpg

Also, I have a vast collection of nail polishes HOWEVER, you don’t need thousands of nail polishes! These are some staple colours which I feel everyone should have!

Make up brushes!

20120904-182551.jpg

When I first got into make up, I used to always wonder what was the best way to apply the make up!

20120904-180753.jpg

I went on eBay and found the most cheapest set of brushes I could find! When they arrived after 4 months of waiting, they were REALLY bad fake MAC brushes made of thorns! I then decided to invest in a brush roll of expensive GENUINE MAC brushes and I fell in love with those! The only thing is, MAC brushes are very hard to get because I have to go into Central London to get them which isn’t a journey I do often. And I don’t like buying online after some bad purchases so I’ve learnt the hard way!

20120904-182527.jpg

I’ve looked in Superdrug and Boots the time and there’s some brands I’ve fallen in love with! Eco Tools and Models Own have some fantastic brushes and Cosmopolitan do fairly good ones too although they don’t last long!

Then Pixiwoo’s Samantha Chapman joined with Real Techniques to make brushes that have changed my life! IM IN LOVE!

They’re excellent value for money an she’s pretty much covered every brush type you’ll ever need!

The brushes I have:
20120904-180806.jpg

  • Blush brush– perfect for blusher, powder and bronzer
  • 20120904-181637.jpg

  • Stippling brush– this brush is perfect for foundation and blusher
  • 20120904-181620.jpg

  • Buffing brush– which is available in the core collection. This is perfect for mineral foundation, powder, foundation and blusher
  • 20120904-181607.jpg

  • Contour brush– perfect for contour, bronzer and blusher
  • 20120904-181630.jpg

  • Detailer brush– perfect for smudging eye shadow/ liner and is fairly good for lipstick/ glass application
  • 20120904-183900.jpg

  • Pointed foundation brush– perfect for…??? To be honey, this is the brush which I’ve NEVER found a use for! I might reshape it though by cutting it and use it as a concealer brush because the point is lethal!
  • The design of the brushes is fantastic and the price is also amazing! The core collection is £21.99 an the separate brushes start from £9.99! Boots often do deals where they do tools at 3 for 2 or buy one, get one half price so look out for them! They’re also available worldwide in most countries!

    20120904-182522.jpg

Want to know how to use the brushes, Sam has an AMAZING make up channel on
YouTube with her sister Nicola and they do fantastic make up tutorials where they use their brushes.
