November favourites!

20121203-170410.jpg

With the wedding almost here, I’ve been rocking the ‘no make up’ look to ensure my skin stays clear and that we stay like friends until the big day! Because you can’t cheat a massive zit the size of Everest on your forehead! However, when I have been wearing make up, these are my favourites from last month!

By the way.. I’VE BEEN LOVING EYESHADOW! I’ve been experimenting with different colours and textures a lot this month and have been rocking dark and bright lips too!! Go me! Woo!

The first favourite has to be the L’oreal Lumi Magique primer! This is a lightweight luminescent primer which has an amazing shine! I must say I don’t think it makes my make up last longer but when I wear it beneath my foundation around the centre of my face and when I use it as a highlighter it looks fantastic and lasts all day! It’s a really good size as I’ve had it for months and used it loads and still hasn’t died on me!

The next big thing for me has been mascara which I think is a staple for most women! When you have those days when you don’t want to wear make up but don’t want to look like you’ve rolled out of bed, mascara is your saviour! My favourite has been Collections Super Size Fake Lash which is brilliant! I have to say, I bought this towards the summer time and opened it so that the liquid would dry out a little because it was too runny! But, now I love it! The brush is a perfect size and I love the way it makes my lashes look! Doesn’t break the bank either.. TRIPLE BONUS!

Another good one for November was my Deluxe Crease Brush from Samantha Chapman’s Real Techniques range! It’s fantastic for concealer! Perhaps not so much for the crease as the name suggests! It’s the perfect size for underneath your eyes and to cover up blemishes and is just the correct thickness! It comes in a set with other brushes which are fairly decent.. But that’s a whole mother blog post! All in all, SUPERB!

Real Techniques Starter Set £21.99

In coalition with the brush is the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer which I featured in a haul past back in summer! The pot comes with a three step system!
1.) Concealer for brightening under eye area
2.) Concealer for your face
3.) A translucent lightweight powder!
I always mix the two concealers together because the salmon coloured one is almost like a corrector! The brightening one is the perfect shade! They are quite thick and creamy concealers but feel fantastic and used with the Deluxe Crease Brush, they last all day!

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer in medium £10.00

The next favourite has to be a lipstick! And not only that but a MAC lipstick! I love this colour called Dubonnet which is an amplified finish which I think is perfect for the winter! It’s not quite a brown, not red but isn’t maroon either! It looks gorgeous on any skin tone and I love it more than anything else this month! The texture is so creamy and it wears off beautifully too! No crusty lips for me thanks!

MAC Dubonnet (amplified finish) £12.60

When I have been wearing foundation it’s MAC MatchMaster which I use in shade 1.0 (the lightest shade). It’s a fantastic medium coverage foundation which is most definitely build able! I love using this because it actually matches in with your skin colour (as the name suggests). It’s lovely and brightening, not drying and comes in a massive bottle! Hooray for MAC!!

MAC MatchMaster foundation in shade 1.0 £22.50

As I mentioned, I’ve been loving the eye bling and there’s no other thing is turn to other than my Sleek make up palettes! I’ve loved using every single colour in this palette called Storm! I’ve created looks for day and night from this handy little bundle of joy! It has a lot of shimmers in it but the colours are fantastic! They are extremely pigmented and the palette costs just £7.99 for a palette with 12 colours in! You can use the colours for your brows too!

September non/ beauty favourites

So I recently done my beauty favourites of September and thought I’d stir the waters by doing a non beauty favourites post!!! All about the things I like or have enjoyed doing during the month is August!

Lets start with.. SURPRISES!!! So as some of you may have read, I had a lovely cousin of mine come round and seen as ill be moving away soon after getting married, I wanted to make her stay special! I loved giving her surprises throughout the day and seeing her reaction on the things I had planned! I done a double whammy by surprising my mum along with her though :) surprising people with gifts, favours or good is definitely a favourite of mine that I will continue to do!

20121003-194014.jpg

Favourite place of the month has to go to the Millennium Dome! It’s now Valle the o2 Arena but was built in the year 2000 as a mark of the new millennium! It took years to build and is right on the edge of the River Thames in Central London! I am from London, live in London and LOVE London but had never been! So I had such a good time when I went there for the first time last week! I loved the rather, atmosphere and the beautiful scenery! If you live in the UK, definitely check out all the offers that are available for the shows in the o2 because its definitely worth it.

20121003-193922.jpg

Next has to be a favourite food! What have I loved eating??? Has to be donuts! I’ve got an obsession with them! I’ve loved munching through the icing and sprinkles to a chewy soft centre! In fact, ill be doing a blog post on how to make your own donuts soon!

20121003-193842.jpg

The next favourite is a piece of clothing! For me, this has to be the new flatforms that have come into fashion recently! I recently bought a pair from River Island and will be purchasing more as time goes on because they are SO comfy! Just be careful, because of their shape, they can hurt the ball of your foot if you stand for too long!

20121003-193935.jpg

Next favourite.. I don’t a blog post on it too! GLASSES AND HIJAB! I’ve loved this new look and I’m SOOOOO going to be wearing this to death this winter! If like me, the prescription of your lenses is quite high and your glasses make your eyes look small, order some clear lens glasses and wear with contacts for a bold fashion statement! ASOS have some great pairs that I’ve bought recently!

20121003-193928.jpg

Last but not least, my favourite interior decorating item is candles! The colder months have arrived and there’s nothing I love more than lighting a massive candle and eating some yummy good! I’m loving angle ornaments too! This tea light holder I got from TK Maxx and I would recommend keeping your eyes peeled with their products because I’ve been visiting there more and more often!

September favourites

Of course! As always I love to share my monthly favourites! September seemed like the longest month of the whole year which was really good because for once, it wasn’t too cloudy and wet in good old London!

I’m looking forward to autumn though! And seen as i’ll be wedding planning throughout the colder months, I’m not worried about the weather! I’m rather excited about spending the last few months in London with people who I care about and who make me happy :)

The first beauty favourite of the month has to be Smashbox Tinted moisturiser! I bought this recently and I know I haven’t used it ALL month but I LOVE IT! It’s the perfect amount of coverage and because it is a moisturiser it’s a double whammy! The only downside, it broke me out! So I have to use a primer under this to protect my skin! Have no idea why it broke me out but it was definitely this because I have tried nothing else new on my skin. It leaves a dewy and glowy look to the skin but doesn’t look like you’ve been licked by a dog! It’s just right :)

SmashBox sheer focus tinted moisturiser in Light £19.50

The next favourite has to be Carmex lip balm! The first thing that is effected by the cold weather is my lips! They get dry very easily and during the start of the year, I had really bad chapped lips! I asked everyone on FaceBook how I could resolve the issue and I got LOADS of suggestions by lots of lovely people! When I’m not scrubbing my lips with a toothbrush or exfoliating my lips with sugar, Carmex has been doing the job! Lovely!

Carmex Lip Balm in Cherry £2.69

The next favourite is actually a beauty tool! My favourite brush this month has to be the Real Techniques Blush brush which I think is the most versatile brush! You can use for it blush, bronzer but my favourite use for it is powder! Using this with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder has changed the way my skin looks! It creates a flawless look but doesn’t look cakey or flakey because the brush bristles are so soft and not too dense! LOVE IT!

Real Techniques Blush Brush £9.99 and Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent £3.99

I’m loving the Au Naturel palette by Sleek Make Up too!!! It’s AMAZING!!!! I’ve raved about it a few times but now I’m hitting pan on half the colours, so I’m going to miss it when it’s finished! I love mixing the top 4 middle shades for a neutral base and then blending a bit of the darker colours in the crease! Perfect every day eye look! The black I use as liner and for my brows sometimes! I’m not over keen on the shimmery colours if I’m honest just because its a bit over-done for what I like but I love this palette! Just be careful with the black cause it has MAJOR fall out! And it’s so pigmented that its hard to wipe off! It’s a curse and a blessing!

Sleek Make up Au Naturel palette £7.99

For my lips I’ve got a combination to die for! I’ve not been a keen user of lip gloss and again, I think lip gloss can look quite over done sometimes but I love this Jelly Pong Pong lip frosting that I got in a GlossyBox! It’s a lovely pink colour and is SO moisturising! I first discovered lipgloss was when my lips got dry and I had to apply lip balm and I always wear lipstick so it always created a dewy lip! One day I thought.. SOD IT! Im going to start using my thousands of lip glosses! And so I did! If Jelly Pong Pong is hard to get, I recommend investing a hot pink sheer lipstick! It looks great over almost EVERY colour and glosses are so moisturising and easy to top up! You can also use JPP on your cheeks.. BONUS! The Jelly Pong Pong smells AMAZING too!

20121002-183105.jpg
Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting £10

The last product is the calming cream by MONU! You guys know I love the revitalising cream but this is also fantastic! It’s green so reduces redness but once again, MONU have cracked it by making a lightweight and easy to use face cream! It’s a lovely base moisturiser and I think it’s good even if you don’t want to reduce redness (my face is very yellow toned)! Fantastic cream and its so nourishing when I use it as a night cream, my skin thanks me for it!

MONU calming cream £9.28

Stay tuned for my non-beauty favourites tomorrow :)
