KIKO make up haul

20130908-142538.jpg

Continuing on with my haul from the last blog post, here are the items I bought from KIKO!

The first items I picked up, were these creamy lipgloss sticks. Very similar to the chubby sticks by way of the packaging and product inside too! I feel as though these last a little longer though. They are glossy and are quite sheer too (which is my favourite combination). I chose 3 colours!

** KIKO pH lip enhancer in 100: £6.50

These individual eyeshadows also caught my eye after I knocked a few over with my bag in the store! I chose colours that I could wear alone and wouldn’t have to pair up with anything else! The are super creamy and pigmented. They all have a sheen or glitter in them but its not chunky and they don’t have a tonne of fallout. These remind me of MAC eyeshadows with the same type of quality.

** KIKO eyeshadows in shades (left to right): 166, 116, 133, 148 – £2.90 each

I then saw these lipsticks and the colours caught my eye! I’ve been trying to use lip products more because I feel like changing your lips can change your whole face instantly! When I saw these colours, I knew they’d be perfect for slamming in my handbag and topping up on the go! They’re lovely pink and brown nudes (can you tell which colours I like?). Although they’re sheer, they’re glossy and have a lovely gold flex running through! They’re semi- sheer and really moisturising with a comfortable application!

** KIKO smart lipsticks in shades: 903, 917 – £1.90 each

I’m a sucker for eyeshadow palettes! More so, for KIKO eyeshadow palettes which I own a few of already! I remember seeing these on their website and loving the colours but when I actually tried them in store, I was literally left with my mouth hanging wide open! They are the creamiest and softest eyeshadows in the world! I have never felt such strongly pigmented and rich colours in any product before! They blend so well and look so vibrant it’s crazy! I am definitely going to get the other palettes!

** KIKO colour impact eyeshadow palette in ‘Bright Night Lights 03’ – £16.90

When I saw this nail varnish, I was intrigued about how it would look. Whilst I was checking out, I saw this sitting there for £1 and grabbed it! The colour is a beautiful pastel blue with a slight purple tinge. The ‘sugar mat’, isn’t so interesting! It’s really gritty and after having it on for only a few minutes, I knew it wasn’t practical! It’s fairly sharp and feels like super hard sandpaper. Moreover, it looks like your nail varnish has major air bubbling going on, so I’m not too crazy about this but, I’ll hold on to it for the next type I’m carving wooden sculptures!

** KIKO Sugar Mat nail lacquer in ‘635 Wisteria’ – £1

Inglot make up haul

20130908-140852.jpg

Can you believe, I’ve been shopping again? I went into London recently and saw some lovely little make up bits that I had to grab! Take a look at today’s post where I show you what I got at Inglot!

I popped into Inglot because they had a sale on, on their lip, eyebrow and concealer palettes.. 50% off! I chose their 5 piece freedom system palette and decided to choose only lipsticks as I didn’t really need any other stuff (not that I need more lipsticks, though). These ended up being so creamy and pigmented! They look amazing and feel good too! I’ve tried an actual lipstick from Inglot before and it’s one of my favourites!

Lipstick refills in shades (left to right): 29, 56, 26, 03, 62- £1.75 each

I then picked up another lip product by way of the lip paint! This is an uber glossy and moisturising lip stick kind of pot! The colour is the perfect nude for me which adds colour and doesn’t drain me out.

20130909-104153.jpg** Inglot lip paint in shade 63: £10

The last few things that I got were nail varnishes! I really wanted some more of the o2m nail varnishes in nude colours that I could always wear! I chose brown and pink toned nudes and they ended up being really nice! I think I’ll enjoy them more in winter though because they don’t seem to look very good with tanned hands.. I have the pink shade (680) on right now.

For all the products I’ve mentioned, you can visit their website here. Their p&p is a little pricey and their swatch colours online are a little off though, so I’d suggest visiting the store for a better experience!

KIKO Cosmetics haul/ review

20130407-124150.jpg

On the way back to my car when I went shopping on Saturday in Westfield White City, London, I saw a shop which had an amazing eye shadow palette right at the door! It was called KIKO! The shop looked like a softer and less edgier version of Inglot or MAC so I went in to take a closer look the shop and I was really impressed!

I think this shop originates from Milan, Italy and I was so impressed by the price and products, I picked up a few items which I am so happy with!

This eye shadow palette was the first thing I saw! The colours are beautiful and I love the way you can use them wet too as they are designed for that! The pinks are perfect for the spring/summer months! They had a neutral and darker palette too but I loved the versatility of this once. I could use the colours for face highlighters, blush, eye brows as well as eye shadow! They are really well pigmented and the packaging is super cute!

The next item I was were these eye liners which were only £3.90 each! That’s less than drug store prices! I had to pick up a few! I love the purple colour which has a purple/ pink glitter and the green looks really nice and subtle! The nib is a felt tip applicator and is so easy to use!

When I was paying at the till, I spotted this highlighter duo and when I swatched it on my hand, it was so creamy and pigmented! I know I’ll use this a lot for highlighting my brows and eyes on summer days so the light can show off the beautiful shimmer of the highlighter!

These four items came in at £31.60! Bargain!

My MAC make up collection

20120729-130134.jpg
I’m not the biggest fan of MAC, if i’m honest.. HOWEVER! Some of their products are truly unique. When i buy make up, I look for things that no other company has. Price isn’t so much of an issue for me as I have a wide mixture of low-end, mid-end and high-end brands. When i find something that is on offer or that i find is really good value for money, I snap it up! But i’m not afraid to spend a little on something, too.

I was thinking about what brand to show my collection of and chose MAC cause i have the perfect amount of products to do a decent sized post on and also.. Cause i think i have some of their staple pieces! Matched with the fact that they are available worldwide WOO!

HERE IT GOESSSSSSS.

  • MAC Studio Tech Foundation which i have in NC20 and NW30. I don’t tan.. It’s a curse i know and i like to give the illusion that i am. So i keep the lighter shade for the winter and mix them both together in the summer for a healthy glow. I’m not a cool tone or warm tone and so sometimes with MAC, i end up getting 2 foundations :( The foundation i have in the compact form and it ‘s lovely! I think blending it in with your fingers works the best though as it is so creamy it needs a little help or doesn’t sink into your skin well but it’s the perfect coverage and looks flawless!
  • MAC Matchmaster Foundation and i’m in 1.0 and this is more like it MAC! Finally, a mixture of both NC and NW and this colour is fantastic! The foundation is creamy and can sometimes feel quite heavy too.. but it you mix it with a bit of your primer or face cream.. it’s a dream!
  • MAC Studio Fix Foundation which i have in NW25 and it is way too dark for me! The foundation however is really thick so using a light hand, i use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and buff it onto my skin and it looks really nice. It’s good in summer cause it’s matte and with a little the natural oils that gather in your face in the heat, it goes dewy. That’s another thing about me.. I don’t like dewy foundations in summer because as you “perspire” you get so much oil and sweat on your face you look like a disco ball! So i use a matte or powder foundation cause its a neutral balance :)
  • MAC Lustre Drops… Highlight… AMAZING… In foundation or on cheek bones. I got Pink Rebel.. What else can i say.. It’s as good as everyone says it to be. Because its cream.. It won’t fall all over your cheeks or smudge.. It’ll set and looks brilliant. And they have some amazing shades
  • MAC LIPSTICKS! I LOVE! Their formulas are amazing, creamy and long lasting and their smell! I LOVE THAT SMELL! I only have a few but thats only because i get so overwhelmed by their zillions of colours! Angel, shy girl, sequin, faux, impassioned, patisserie are some of my faves! Sequin’s a weird one but i really like it on me! Its like a copper brown colour. I’ve always wanted a brown but never found one that looked good on me. a dupe for sequin is Clinique Bamboo Pink which is almost identical!
  • MAC Blushes! I go against the norm by choosing their powder blushes over their cream blushes. Cream blushes just don’t last on me AT ALL! I chose Pink Swoon, Frankly Scarlet and Desert Rose. These are super pigmented apart from Pink Swoon which is a sheer tone blush so for SUPER PALE people or when you want just a light dusting of colour. MAC blushes are by far my favourite and Frankly Scarlet is my favourite of all time because one little dab in the pan and you’re done for both cheeks!

When i got into MAC, no one ever used to mention the prices of the products and nor do they have them listed at the counters. Their foundations range from £16 – £29 so, more than high street but think about Bourjois who have their Healthy Mix range at £11.99! FOR DRUGSTORE!?!?!

Lustre drops are £17.50 so VERY HIGH END for a highlighter. But Benefits infamous High Beam and Moon Beam are around the same too!

Lipsticks are £13.50 and the most staple pieces you could find. Spend the extra money and get them because i think they’re just FABULOUS!

Mac Blushes are $17.50 and this is a lot for a blush. But if you choose a super rich colour that is very pigmented (like most of the MAC range is), you’ll get your money’s worth because the product lasts you so long!

Here’s the MAC site! you can get MAC from Debenhams, John Lewis, MAC stores, Selfridges, Fenwicks, House of Fraser and online!

Debenhams are doing duty free prices on all their beauty products at the moment and MAC online have free shipping on orders over £30! So take advantage my fellow Make Up Addicts!
