Fe-Blog-Uary Day 3 – Products I’m Excited to Try

20140202-230235.jpg

When this year started, I knew that I’d want to try lots of new products and step out of my comfort zone a little with the make up I wear and cosmetics I use, so I decided to take advantage of the things I’d usually push aside and start incorporating the things I get in Glossy Boxes and free samples! I’m mega excited to try these products so stay tuned for a follow up post about my reviews on these!

Rapid Dry Quick Dry for Nails

20140202-231541.jpg
Starting off with this spray, I actually used this recently when I needed my nails dry in a hurry and I loved it so much, I included it in my January 2014 favourites linked here for you read a full review on.

Rimmel Stay Blushed in ‘001 Pop of Pink’

20140202-231757.jpg
This jumped out to me recently when I saw it at the Rimmel stand! I love cheek stains because they look so natural and after I swatched the tester, I knew I’d like it! It’s a gorgeous bubblegum pink shade and is a paste-like consistency! I’ll let you know what I think of it after I’ve rested it out fully!

Maybelline Colossal Volum Express

20140202-232012.jpg
I’ve actually used this once before when they released this mascara with a ‘Cat Eye’ campaign and I’m not sure of they still sell it! I loved it so much that when I saw it in my Glossy Box, I squealed! I really like the look of the brush and the product’s consistency seems just right for my eyelashes.. A factor that people usually forget to check! I can’t wait for my current mascara to finish so I can try this!

HD Brows Eye Brow Palette

20140202-232256.jpg
I’m not usually into brows and they’re definitely something that I tend to ignore when I’m doing my make up.. I tend to put on clear mascara and call it a day however, they do have sparse areas that need se love so I’m excited to dog I to this HEAVILY raved about quad! You can use these as eyeshadows too.. Woo!

Seche Nail Polish in ‘Smokey’

20140202-232442.jpg
I’ve not really used many colours from Seche because they’re so expensive however, after receiving this in a Glossy Box, I can’t wait to start using dark colours on my nails again! I own another pink colour by Seche and the formula was amazing (which you’d expect based on how much they cost). This is a gorgeous charcoal grey with a slight silver shimmer running through.. Perfect for evenings!

Urban Decay Primer Potions (Original, Sin, Eden, Anti-Ageing)

20140202-232723.jpg
When I got this with my Naked 3 palette, I was so excited to try them because I’ve only ever used the ‘Original Primer Potion’ and have always wanted to try sin! I can’t wait to dip my finger in this little pots and get cracking with some funky eye looks!

What are you excited to try this year? Have you made any resolutions?

My Top: Autumn Lipsticks

Autumn is all about dark and deep shades and there’s no better statement than to add that dark look on your lips! I love dark lips but am not always brave enough to rock them.. My mum however LOVES them on me! So don’t be afraid to ask other people’s opinions on how it looks on you, you might be surprised what they think!

My Top: Autumn Nails

20131130-145440.jpg

So recently, I decided to do a winter time series where every day this week, I’ll show you my favourite beauty products of a certain category and today.. It’s nail varnishes!

I’m a HUGE fan of painting my nails and hands are a real big thing in my books..

Clean hands, clean body and soul.. That’s my moto (which I just made up now).

Keeping your nails clean, shaped well and looking natural is also fantastic but if you fancy a bit more colour, look no further than my favourite fall nail polish guide!

Autumn Pop Of Blue

20131106-153735.jpg

With autumn well and truly here, there is one colour which just keeps popping up time and time again.. Blue! It’s always been a cold colour but I’ve loved incorporating it into my make up lately.. And the best way I know how is, EYELINER!

20131106-154327.jpg
MUA Royal Blue Waterproof Eyeliner – £1
Really smooth and creamy! Has great pigmentation and really nice staying power even on the waterline! Superb value for money!

20131106-154608.jpg
Barry M Kohl Pencil in 4 – £2.99
Not the best pigmentation, not particularly smooth but a really nice muddy blue colour! A really easy way to wear blue!

20131106-154919.jpg
Collection Eyeshadow Pencil in Denim Diva – £3.19
Perhaps the cheat ‘eyeliner’ but works well as an eyeshadow and eyeliner! A really nice glitter running through and really good longevity

20131106-154709.jpg
KIKO Super Colour Eyeliner in 107 – £3.90
Super pigmented and really creamy to apply! Best liquid eyeliner formula I’ve tried EVER! It’s quite bold so not for the faint hearted but easy to wear mixed with black eyeshadow for a subtle pop of blue!

20131106-154805.jpg
Bourjois Effet Metallise in 54 – £4.99
Super metallic but a nice way to incorporate blue! Looks amazing on any skin tone and if you’re tanned or dark, this is a must buy for you.. Seriously it looks amazing on!

20131106-155003.jpg
Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Debonair – £14
Expensive but a really unique colour to find! It’s quite creamy and has REALLY good staying power! Looks really nice lightly applied on the waterline

Autumn nails!

20131101-170827.jpg

I love applying nail varnish in the winter time because it’s a simple way to accessorise and add colour to the deep and dark colours of the colder months!

When it comes to nail varnishes, there is no competition to Barry M nail paints which are my favourite nail varnishes of all time! They smash it with their colour ranges for every season and autumn, is not one they’ve missed! They’ve just released a collection of matte nail shades which all look amazing! So check out their website for sure!

All of their nail varnishes are opaque and often it only takes 1/2 coats to get them perfect and ready to roll out with. They’re as cheap as chips coming in at £3.99 and often even less when on offer. The brush is small so perfect for precise application and it dries in around 1 or 2 minutes!

Have a look at all of these colours that I have in my collection which I think are perfect for the autumn months!

SmashBox Master Class Palette

I AM BACK! And with a vengeance! After taking a long break (over a month.. Eek!), it’s time to get back into the flow of things! I’ve been away since my brothers wedding which had occupied me immensely but I’ve missed blogging SO SO SO much, I promise to never take such a long break again!

20131024-173536.jpg

20131024-173617.jpg

To get back into the flow of things, I thought I’d show you a new palette that arrived at my disposal around 3 weeks ago! I had seen this crazy fun-filled palette on a few YouTube channels a while back and so badly wanted it and thought I had missed it because it was limited edition! That was.. Until I saw it on sale at a random shop where it was completely unused! It was meant to be! I then saw on eBay that there were tonnes of these palettes flying around!

20131024-173609.jpg

20131024-173636.jpg

What is it? Meet the Smashbox Master Class Palette (1)! There has since been the release of another but these colours seemed to appeal to me more! This palette is full of eyeshadows, blushes and a bronzer! From a range of finishes including ultra pigmented matte, to uber shimmery glitters, it’s really versatile and so compact too!

20131024-174054.jpg

20131024-174216.jpg

You can see from the swatches that the pigmentation is superb! As well as that, the powders blend effortlessly and seamlessly. There are no lip products in this palette but I would have loved even 1 lip colour to make it an all- rounder- travel- friendly palette! Other than that I have no regrets! For the price I paid, I practically made money!

20131024-174849.jpg

20131024-174859.jpg

The colours are mega versatile and I could use them all year around! What I love is that all the colours are totally ‘me’! I’ve been loving: no eyeliner and just a simple wash of colour over the lid recently.. Just like I loved it last year and this palette makes colour choices simple!

To buy this palette, you’ll have to search on eBay but, there are LOADS available! I don’t want to recommend a certain seller because I don’t want to be responsible for a bad experience (should it happen). However, this palette is limited edition and exclusive to Sephora so if you see it floating around in there, grab it! I really like the second version, too! Happy shopping!
