U.A.E

U.A.E! The first country to have succeeded in my ‘talk of my top 5 views’!

In particular, I’ll talk about Dubai as I went there recently! I’ll show you the things I bought as well as some pictures I took whilst there!

Ok.. So we recently had a tough time at the beginning of the year.. My brothers wedding got called off after 2 years of planning and of course.. He was distraught! Moreso than him, my mum was quite hard on herself and took the blame even though it wasn’t her fault.. The solution.. A secret holiday! Planned by my trust Mr. A and cousin Miss. A! I discussed which location to go to and it was tough! We kind of started off in the European region but my brother has seen so much of it, we decided against it! My cousin then said that Dubai was a brilliant place! Mr. A practically lives there and recommended it for sure! Literally, the whole concept, planning and booking happened in a few hours one night!

I told my brother from the get- go because I wasn’t entirely sure he’d want to go.. But he was happy to comply! My brother realised that my mother was down about the whole situation so we decided to surprise her! And that.. We did! Miss. A got involved and with a bunch of balloons and BIG bouquet of flowers, mum was in disbelief that she was going to Dubai!!

This all happened the day before we were meant to leave for our holiday! Mum told all her friends, we cracked on with the packing and away we went! I was so excited I couldn’t sleep! My favourite holidays are near the beach and I’m definitely a city girl! But this was UNREAL! When we arrived in Dubai.. THE SUN! THE FRESH BREEZE! THE CLEANLINESS! It was amazing! There’s no feeling like when you’re walking through the plane isles to a new country.. And you haven’t even moved!

We arrived the morning and were fairly hungry so made good use of the hotel! Dubai is fairly small so our hotel was nearby to everything (located in Bur Dubai)! We found a small Paul’s cafe and that would be our stop for a few days every morning! Breakfast was at our hotel, but snacks and pit stops were there!

The first day of arrival, as went to the beach! Oh My God! To all my fellow UAE readers.. You should be so grateful to have the most beautiful beach at your finger tips! I was in awe of the beautiful warm weather, the soft sand and the cool ocean! As soon as we went to the beach.. I could see the relief on the faces of my brother and mother! Like a weight had been lifted off! We found an ice cream man who would be our new addiction supplier (ICE CREAM) and we stayed at the beach until sunset! It was absolutely beautiful!

Dubai mall as amazing because of the sheer size of it! I’m used to the size though because Westfiels shopping centre in London is quite big as well! Of course.. The main attraction of Dubai Mall is the massive building stuck on the side! Burj Khalifa was amazing! It is so big.. You have to stand quite a way back to see it! I thought it was really attractive and we looked like typical tourists just gasping at it and giggling as we tried to take pictures of us ‘touching the top’ LOL!

Of course! Done quite a bit of shopping but more so than the shopping, we took advantage of the fact we could eat ANYTHING there because it was all halal! Tony Roma’s, Chillis, McDonalds! WOO! I’m a real food person and for me, having a lack of food whilst on holiday usually dampens it but I was very happy! One thing.. When we went to the Emirates Mall, we ventured into Chilli’s where my mum found a spider in her food :O LITERALLY! The manager tried to say it was a mushroom but mum knows a spider leg when she sees it.. The whole situation was handled badly! But we then went to Chilli’s in BurJaman and we LOVED the refreshing mocktails!

On to the pictures some more pictures!

The gold market was amazing! There was so much GOLD! Of course.. I has told mum about this so he bought her old gold and the jewellers were happy to do us a good deal in order to get some new bling!

If I could have changed anything.. Rent a car! We had problems with regards to taxi’s etc just because they cost so much! Also, we should have gone to Abu Dhabi because everyone said that is a must see!

The people there were so friendly but obviously they’re used to getting tourists who don’t speak a word of their language! The taxi drivers were friendly and when we left something in a taxi, the driver came to find us to return our shopping back to use and we were so happy!

Thank you for the trip of a lifetime, UAE!
