L’oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Solution

When my BioDerma recently finished (I went through 2 500ml bottles in less than a year), I was so sad! I had never used a cleansing water before and had so badly fallen in love with it! It effortlessly took makeup off and I didn’t think I’d be able to find anything like it!

When the last drop touched my face, I decided to man up and go to boots to have a snoop around all the different cleansers the drugstore had to offer! I knew that some big brands have amazing ones too but I didn’t want to have to pay tonnes of money for something I use everyday! I had a look at No7, Soap & Glory and then finally L’oreal!

When I took my makeup off the first night, I was AMAZED! I had put on a full face of makeup including waterproof eyeliner and this just wiped it off! I was surprised at L’oreal to make such a big brand dupe! I’m not too keen on the packaging because of the way the liquid comes out.. It spews out and often spills. But I love how slimline it is, making it perfect for travel.

You can see how it removes makeup. In the swatch shows a cheek stain and waterproof eyeliner and it came off with little or no effort at all. I always use the solution on a baby wipe (Huggies Value Pack- £0.97p) and I wipe my makeup off.

It’s fantastic value for money too coming in at a whopping £4.99 for 200ml! And it’s equivalent to Bioderma which costs £9.99 for 250ml! You an get this from any drugstore! Super handy and lovely!

No make up make up!

20121025-191442.jpg

I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the ‘no make up make up’ look at the moment! Usually I’m the kind of person who feels bare without any eyeliner or highlighter on my face!

It takes so confidence to go kind of bare faced when you’re used to caking your face with so many products, your makeup drawer looks like a Sephora loot! But I think I’ve cracked it with a very simple formula!

Step A: Good cleanse + hydrating moisturiser = perfect skin – foundation

I pride myself on maintaining my skin an it’s the one thing I never go without doing! Ensuring you take your make up off beautifully before bed and then washing/ exfoliating/ cleansing your face and then applying a hydrating moisturiser, will make your skin shine without the need for moisturiser!

Step B: Concealer + Blending = natural beauty

Everyone has those imperfections which they can’t bare being seen with! For me it’s my dark circles which wearing glasses and contacts have given to me over time! Get yourself a nice creamy concealer and blend as flawlessly as you can to create skin that looks naturally clean! **Avoid putting concealer on scabs and dry patches because it looks blotchy! Try moisturising those areas to help them heal faster, instead :)

Step C: mascara + pencil liner / bright shadow = awake eyes

Your eyes should do the talking in the no make up equation, the reason being that there is no bright lip, or contoured cheek coming up. By using a lengthening and volumizing mascara which will feminise your face. Using a highlighter in your inner corners will make your eyes seem brighter and more awake and by using a pencil liner to rim the waterline, it will add a little drama to your eyes to make your eye colour stand out more. ** Instead of using a black liner, use a brown or soft colour instead as it won’t seem as harsh. Tight line the the top lash line too to make your lashes seem fuller.

Step D: Cream blush + lip liner = a completed gorgeous look!

Cream blusher will look more natural than a bright pint powder blush just because it blends better and looks like skin. It also adds a nice dewy finish to the skin thus, beautifying your flawless face more! Add a simple nude lip liner around your lips to define them an fill in with your lip balm to add a touch of shine and moisture!

In summary:

Good cleanse + hydrating moisturiser = perfect skin – foundation

Concealer + Blending = natural beauty

Mascara + pencil liner / bright shadow = awake eyes

Cream blush + lip liner = a completed gorgeous look!

My make up removal!

20120803-003129.jpg
Ah! The awaited make up extrapolation routine of mine! This is the most basic routine I think I could have ever found! Now I wear make up almost 6 times a week, so I need to ensure that I remove it well so no residue is left.. But a way that isn’t nasty on my bank balance :)

Here we go:

20120803-002929.jpg
1.) I use Avene extremely gentle cleanser.. As a cleanser! Although this says extremely gentle.. I find it does sting your eyes if it goes into your eyes so be careful of that! I put a pound size amount into the back of my freshly clean hands and divide my face into 7 sections and work on these sections separately.

I then massage this almost like I’m trying to absorb it into my skin and ensure that I get to the edges of my face and that I don’t tug my skin too much.
When it comes to eyes I get a little of the cleanser on my fingertips and I rub my lashes using the ball of my index finger to gently massage the mascara and eye liner off using small circular motions. It will come right off.. Trust me.. It’s amazing!

2.) I then take my baby wipe which I like the scented version of, because it smells yummy likes babies! I stretch it slightly because this makes the wipe bigger and I can use more of it to cover my face! I then gently rub the wipe all over my face.. Changing the section of the wipe to a clean bit for every section of my face! I do the eyes last! And just like I used my finger to rub my mascara off.. I wrap the wipe around my index finger and again gently in circular motions wipe off the residue!

You’ll notice all your make wipes straight off! This is the BEST method of removing make up I find! I have never used toner on my skin and not do I use face wash after this procedure. The reason being.. Because I don’t need to! I don’t want to touch and massage my skin too much if I don’t think toner does anything to it! It’s unnecessary expense to me and I think my make up comes off and my skin feels much fresher just by doing this routine! I apply moisturiser after though :)

Avene extremely gently cleanser can be found in Boots for £8/9
And baby wipes are always on offer for £1 but usually cost £1.50 for a pack of 64!
The avene lasts me almost 4 months! And the baby wipes last me more than 2 months! So that’s basically £30 for the whole year! And you’ll still have some wipes left over!

My tip is.. If you see the wipes on offer for £1.. Pick up a few packs because they don’t go out of date and if you keep them sealed until you need to use them, you’ll get a lot more for your pennies!
