I know it’s Autumn, so it’s time for fake tan to be out down.. But I still love being a little but more colourful than my natural skin tone! If you like having a bronze look about you, here are some of my favourite bronzers!
I recently went to Boots and picked up some amazing products from Barry M! I mentioned in a previous blog post that they had released some autumnal matte shade nail paints and they looked amazing, so I picked them up too! Take a look at my mini haul!
With autumn well and truly here, there is one colour which just keeps popping up time and time again.. Blue! It’s always been a cold colour but I’ve loved incorporating it into my make up lately.. And the best way I know how is, EYELINER!
MUA Royal Blue Waterproof Eyeliner – £1
Really smooth and creamy! Has great pigmentation and really nice staying power even on the waterline! Superb value for money!
Barry M Kohl Pencil in 4 – £2.99
Not the best pigmentation, not particularly smooth but a really nice muddy blue colour! A really easy way to wear blue!
Collection Eyeshadow Pencil in Denim Diva – £3.19
Perhaps the cheat ‘eyeliner’ but works well as an eyeshadow and eyeliner! A really nice glitter running through and really good longevity
KIKO Super Colour Eyeliner in 107 – £3.90
Super pigmented and really creamy to apply! Best liquid eyeliner formula I’ve tried EVER! It’s quite bold so not for the faint hearted but easy to wear mixed with black eyeshadow for a subtle pop of blue!
Bourjois Effet Metallise in 54 – £4.99
Super metallic but a nice way to incorporate blue! Looks amazing on any skin tone and if you’re tanned or dark, this is a must buy for you.. Seriously it looks amazing on!
Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Debonair – £14
Expensive but a really unique colour to find! It’s quite creamy and has REALLY good staying power! Looks really nice lightly applied on the waterline
I love me some cold weather, hence why you’ll notice a lot of blog posts about the weather this time of year! I like to stick to some staple pieces throughout autumn and here they are:
Avon super shock gel eyeliner ‘Blackberry’ – £6
When it comes to eyeliner, I’m the Queen! I have tonnes of colours and it’s my ‘go-to’ for when I want to add colour to my face! I like using black but during autumn, I like to use a slightly more warmer colour and a deep red is perfect for that. I have brown eyes, so using brown and red tones compliments them a lot and oxblood, maroon and scarlet are the top autumn colours! This eyeliner is so long lasting and it’s super pigmented! It’s actually a really deep purple colour with intense red glitter in it hence the shade- blackberry. Has superb lasting time and is super pigmented too! I love using this on the waterline and smudging into my top lashes when I want extra smoke (as shown in image above).
Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher ‘Scandal’ – £5
** Currently not available on their website
When I first purchased this blusher Miss. A one day, I knew if love it! It’s a gorgeous metallic-looking dusty pink! I applied it to my cheeks when I was quite tanned and to be honest, it was almost invisible. Then when I tried using it as my tan wore off, it began to look better and better! It has a gorgeous sheen which doesn’t look like glitter at all and is so pigmented.. Even though it’s baked, it has a lot of depth to it and isn’t a flat colour! It’s smooth to apply and although I first thought it wouldn’t look good as a blusher on darker skin, it adds a gorgeous glow when used as a highlight! I love this stuff and because it’s so valuable, I love it even more! It’s perfect for adding a glow to your skin during the drier months!
Maybelline Forever Strong Pro ‘Midnight Red’ – £4.09
Ok let’s just appreciate how beautiful this nail varnish is! I love it for adding a bit of colour to the hands! It’s really long lasting and lasts like a gel meaning it doesn’t chip at all and had a high gloss finish! I really like the brush and colour pay off, too! It’s as cheap as chips and Maybelline is available in any country.. WOOHOO!
Bourjois Shine Edition ’23’ – £7.99
When this range of lipsticks came out, I was so excited to try a few and I grabbed them as soon as I can! The colours I chose were very autumnal and this one is by far and beyond, one of my favourites! I really like red and purple tones and this combines both if my loves! It really is shiny and has a real glossy look to it on your lips. It’s super pigmented and all thought not very long lasting, it is super easy to top up! It’s good value for money and they have a great colour range too.. Definitely one to check out!
MAC Sheertone Blush ‘Breath of Plum’ – £18
I like bright blushers and I definitely cannot have a face without it! So when I saw this shade earlier on this year, I knew I’d love using it in autumn! It’s sheer, so isn’t a strong rush of purple colour which would look odd and so adds a deep colour without looking dark! It’s a good change from the bright shades because deep colours look better on pale and cold looking skin! It’s soft to touch and is super finely milled colour.. Superb!
KIKO Eyeshadow ‘133’ – £1.99
When I bought this eyeshadow, I wanted to use it as a blending colour when doing dark smokey eyes, but I love it so much as a smokey shade alone, it’s become a staple for autumn for me! It’s a deep burgundy colour with a copper undertone! It looks super nice mixed with the Avon eyeliner, and it matches so well! It is really pigmented and is soft and smooth to blend! I love this shade for autumn heaps and bounds!
Real Techniques ‘Expert Face’ Brush – £9.99
The hype of Real Techniques brushes is so high at the moment and it’s evident why when you use this brush! It’s a dense and stuff synthetic brush which is slightly oval shape! It’s so good to use with cream products and heavy powdering! Apply blush, highlighter, bronzer, contour, foundation, concealer and even powder with this brush and your makeup will look flawless! It’s as cheap as chips and lasts so well even after washing! I love using this brush as much as possible and for most of the face products listed above, this brush works perfectly!

When my BioDerma recently finished (I went through 2 500ml bottles in less than a year), I was so sad! I had never used a cleansing water before and had so badly fallen in love with it! It effortlessly took makeup off and I didn’t think I’d be able to find anything like it!
When the last drop touched my face, I decided to man up and go to boots to have a snoop around all the different cleansers the drugstore had to offer! I knew that some big brands have amazing ones too but I didn’t want to have to pay tonnes of money for something I use everyday! I had a look at No7, Soap & Glory and then finally L’oreal!
When I took my makeup off the first night, I was AMAZED! I had put on a full face of makeup including waterproof eyeliner and this just wiped it off! I was surprised at L’oreal to make such a big brand dupe! I’m not too keen on the packaging because of the way the liquid comes out.. It spews out and often spills. But I love how slimline it is, making it perfect for travel.
You can see how it removes makeup. In the swatch shows a cheek stain and waterproof eyeliner and it came off with little or no effort at all. I always use the solution on a baby wipe (Huggies Value Pack- £0.97p) and I wipe my makeup off.
It’s fantastic value for money too coming in at a whopping £4.99 for 200ml! And it’s equivalent to Bioderma which costs £9.99 for 250ml! You an get this from any drugstore! Super handy and lovely!
This months GlossyBox arrived and I was mega excited to see what Autumn/ Fall products they would have inside!
MeMeMe Cherubs Lip and Cheek Tint £5.50 12ml
This cheek tint is something have tried before but finished t and never repurchased! I’m a bit fan if cheek tints because powders and creams don’t last all that well on my face so to have something like a stain is perfect for me! This is lovely and lightweight, it’s also super-blend able and looks natural on the cheeks! As well as the nice and light price tag, it’s a steal and I’m so glad that my GlossyBox had a full size bottle! Woo!
Vita Liberata Latte Illuminating Skin Finish £29.95 30ml
When I first saw this, I was sceptical because I hate sachets and packet samples of products! But after trying this yesterday, I can co item, I’m tempted to buy this for summer! I was confused at first as to what it was but it’s like a glowy fake tan with coverage! Imagine applying a darker foundation with shimmer in it, on your skin.. And you have this! It’s lightweight and mousse like which gives the skin an airbrushed finish! I love fake tanning so this is perfect! Probably not the best product for the colder months though, GlossyBox! I think I would have preferred this in summer!
Premae Multi- Vit Smoothing Serum £22.50 50ml
When I had received the Harmony balm a few months ago, I had fallen in love with the stuff and was really tempted to buy the full size were it not for the hefty price! So I was glad to see another product from their line! This product claims to be a moisturising serum which doesn’t let you get oily! I out it to the ultimate test of wearing it at night after I’d cleansed (needed the moisture) and when I get the most oily! I woke up to my skin feeling soft and not as oily! It didn’t work miracles but it’s so nice and lightweight on the skin! Perhaps another product I’d have preferred in summer?
MONU Illuminating Primer £24.95 50ml
When it comes to MONU products, I love them! Every time I’ve received something in my GlossyBox which is branded MONU, I’ve taken an instant liking to it: MONU revitalising cream, the heated mask and now this! When I saw this primer, I was sceptical to trying it because I already love the Benefit one I’m using at the moment. However, I love that this primer is so light and so easy to use! It doesn’t let my skin oil and it has a gorgeous shimmer running through it! It’s quite paste-like in consistency and seems as though it would be quite heavy on the skin but I’m actual fact, feels amazing! It instantly brightens your face and gives you an illuminating glow! I love this already!
When I received this perfume sample, the first thing I thought was.. AGAIN? I had already got this in a previous box! And to be honest, I wasn’t that keen on the scent! I love the Katy Perry Purr scent which I own but was a little disappointed with this one! It’s still sweet and has a nice summery scent but it’s not something I would reach for in Autumn I feel! Definitely worth a sniff during the warmer months though!
When it comes to skin care, I’ve always been one of those people who sticks to whatever works, no matter what the cost or how hard it is to get those products. However, since subscribing to GlossyBox here in the UK, the constant disposal of skin care products never ceases to disappoint in the skincare sector. I receive a tonne of creams and lotions and potions and often try then really hesitantly in case they do more damage than good. However, after realising my skin generally reacts well with new products, I have broadened my horizons and now try the new products willingly.
I received a sample of Urban Veda’s purifying day cream in Septembers GlossyBox which I blogged about and instantly fell in love with this stuff! I’ve recently noticed my skin becoming even more oilier than ever before and although it’s irritating, at least I know that my body is releasing in essay oils from itself. I’ve been going crazy looking for a cream that has everything: SPF, moisture, essential oils, vitamins and all in budget!
When this cream came about I fell in love! It is designed to target oil-prone skin and is mattifying .. What more could I ask for? Well it also claims to be pore refining and lightweight! All these things.. CHECK! This cream is amazing! After trying out the sample size, I immediately purchased the day and night cream!
Now I have to be honest and say the night cream is a little too heavy right now, but only because my skin is oily and I think during the winter months, this cream will be perfect! However he day cream is AMAZING! I’ve hooked two other people to this and they love it too!
It’s almost like wiping water on your skin, and it leaves a just-cleansed kind of feeling on your skin! It’s so mattifying, if you apply on an oily area of your skin, you’ll see the shine disappear! It’s super lightweight and the packaging is small and light enough to carry around with you for travelling! I honestly love this cream! It’s the perfect price point too at each cream costing only £14.99! A little goes a long way thus making it even lighter on your purse!
I could go on about it.. Silly when you think it’s only a cream, but my skin loves it! And now, so do I! I’d love to try other products from their range too! Have any of you tried anything from Urban Veda before? Visit their website here.
I AM BACK! And with a vengeance! After taking a long break (over a month.. Eek!), it’s time to get back into the flow of things! I’ve been away since my brothers wedding which had occupied me immensely but I’ve missed blogging SO SO SO much, I promise to never take such a long break again!
To get back into the flow of things, I thought I’d show you a new palette that arrived at my disposal around 3 weeks ago! I had seen this crazy fun-filled palette on a few YouTube channels a while back and so badly wanted it and thought I had missed it because it was limited edition! That was.. Until I saw it on sale at a random shop where it was completely unused! It was meant to be! I then saw on eBay that there were tonnes of these palettes flying around!
What is it? Meet the Smashbox Master Class Palette (1)! There has since been the release of another but these colours seemed to appeal to me more! This palette is full of eyeshadows, blushes and a bronzer! From a range of finishes including ultra pigmented matte, to uber shimmery glitters, it’s really versatile and so compact too!
You can see from the swatches that the pigmentation is superb! As well as that, the powders blend effortlessly and seamlessly. There are no lip products in this palette but I would have loved even 1 lip colour to make it an all- rounder- travel- friendly palette! Other than that I have no regrets! For the price I paid, I practically made money!
The colours are mega versatile and I could use them all year around! What I love is that all the colours are totally ‘me’! I’ve been loving: no eyeliner and just a simple wash of colour over the lid recently.. Just like I loved it last year and this palette makes colour choices simple!
To buy this palette, you’ll have to search on eBay but, there are LOADS available! I don’t want to recommend a certain seller because I don’t want to be responsible for a bad experience (should it happen). However, this palette is limited edition and exclusive to Sephora so if you see it floating around in there, grab it! I really like the second version, too! Happy shopping!
There’s nothing I love more than receiving my Glossy Box without even realising it’s been a month.. A blessing for the surprise and a curse because I’ve lost another month!
First of all, the box is AMAZING! It’s a ginormous Union Jack flag and I can’t wait to display it proudly in my room! The theme for this month was inspired by London Fashion Week and all the products are from brands in the UK. This month came with a unique magazine which was a nice little bit of literature to read on a small journey!
Let’s take a look at what was in the box..
The first eye-tem (pardon the pun) that jumped out at me were these self-adhesive eyelashes! I’m a bit sceptical of these but I’m saving to try them on a special occasion because they look beautiful and natural! I don’t know how well they’ll stick, but I’m ready for the challenge!
The next thing I awed over was this Onyx eyeliner by BeABombShell! It’s a jumbo eyeliner felt tip that makes a super neat line! After I stopped buying L’oreal Carbon Gloss, I never used eyeliner until I bought my first felt tip applicator one! This is highly pigmented and makes a super clean line.. PERFECT!
** Be A Bombshell Onyx Eyeliner
When I saw this perfume, I loved that I could try it! I saw a favourite YouTuber of mine Shaaanxo mention that she bought this recently and loved it! So when I received it, I knew is like it! It’s a really strange scent. It’s musky, floral, fruity and evening-y! I really like the bottle, too which they’ve designed to look good from whatever angle you look at it from! I love it when I get perfume samples in miniature versions of their full size bottles.. Looks super cute on my vanity!
I’m not usually too into hair care because I don’t show my hair.. Durr? But I don’t mind a serum every now and again because I don’t always like using conditioner on my hair. I tried this straight away because my hair had just dried and I quite like it. The serum is semi-runny and not too thick and absorbs really well. I applied it to the ends of my dry hair and it gave it a bit of shine and lessened any frizz that I had.. Nothing miraculous and I’m not too keen on the smell but I like the handy size and the bottle comes in a pump.. Bonus!
When I saw the next thing, I was quite surprised by the name.. I had heard of this old wives tale for a while no and the idea is exactly what the product name suggests! I like the consistency which is uber thick and it really moisturises well.. However, half of the sample was air.. WHICH SUCKS! But it’s handy because you can carry it in your bag to use on your cuticles, elbows and wherever you get dry!
